SKAND is a Scandinavian company that specializes in electrical vehicles. For their first electrical boat they designed a hull with legendary boat designer Sven Ståhle, that would work as a 7-9 knot taxi boat. For the interior and roof they asked students at Aalto University to create concepts.
Jean Munck and Laura Hietala designed a modular interior and roof concept, that is thought out to easily fit all the mandatory extra equipment that one needs on a boat. This was achieved by creating removable boat furniture that functions as storage boxes. These can be moved around and placed in different positions thanks to a predetermined pattern in the deck. When the season ends one can remove the entire interior which makes the winter storage and boat care much easier and cheaper.
The roof was designed to be a light and removable construction with a foldable section that is fitted with solar panels. The panels provide electricity for the numerous USB charging points and for the satellite navigation system. Boat modelled in Solidworks.
